Beautiful leather satchel, which is also made in a sustainable way. That’s the OldSchoolBags ‘Natural’.
We selected the finest vegetable tanned leather for this satchel (so no harsh chemicals have been used for the tanning process) and all bags are locally made.
Especially for teachers
Many teachers have bought our bags. We’ve listened carefully to their feedback.
This satchel is so spacious that it even fits a large file folder (in the XL+) or two binders (in the XL).
These bags are also extra sturdy and robust. After all, every day they are fully loaded and go to school through all kinds of weather.
Extra spacious leather satchel
This satchel is extra spacious. In addition to the large middle compartment, there are two large compartments and a lockable zipper pocket.
These bags have a width of 39cm (XL) and 41cm (XL+). So this is spacious enough for your laptop, folders and books.
You can store a lot of your daily stuff in the well-known front pockets.
Responsible leather, responsibly made
A beautiful product is only really beautiful if it is made fairly and responsibly (that is our vision).
The OldSchoolBags ‘Natural’ is just that: the leather is vegetable tanned and we make the bags locally.
Vegetable tanned leather is better. No harsh chemicals such as chromium are used for the tanning process.
This is the norm with other leather products because it is faster and cheaper. But also more harmful to the environment (see this blog).
That is why we were very happy when we discovered their Primavera line at the company Dutch Leather Vision in Dongen.
The leather is beautiful in color and is made in a sustainable way …. exactly what we were looking for for our new satchels.
Made in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands
When OldSchoolBags was founded in 2012, we immediately started producing locally.
Our satchels and office bags do not have to make a world trip of 8,000 – 12,000 kilometers by ship or plane.
The leather goes from Dongen to Kaatsheuvel (= 8 kilometers) and when the satchel is ready, it’s sent directly to the customer.
The bags are made by hand by real craftsmen, in a workshop that has been doing this since 1962.
Due to this short and tight production process, we can continue making our bags locally. No unnecessary transportation, pollution … everything fair and responsible!
